Welcome back to school. I am Mrs. Alexander; I teach music at the grade school and I also conduct the parish youth choir. I would like to take this opportunity to invite third through eighth grade students to join our group. I believe
music is a wonderful way to bring ourselves closer to God and I enjoy teaching students the same.
We rehearse on Wednesdays after school, from dismissal until 4:00 PM. Students will be escorted from school to Jesuit Hall. I will walk the choir members to Cedar Street at 4:00 for parent pick up and bring the aftercare kids back to school. We typically sing on the third Sunday of the month, some Holy Days, and special Masses upon request.
We meet on Sundays, at 10:30, in the choir room of Jesuit Hall and sing the 11:00 AM Mass from the choir loft. Families can meet their children in the loft or they will meet you in the choir room following Mass.
SFB choir members are also invited and encouraged to sing with the Combined Christian Children’s Choir. This group meets for four evening practices and sings one concert over a two week period. It is free to join and food pantries in our area, including ours at St. Francis Borgia, benefit from a free will offering taken during the concert.
Below is the schedule for August through December. Please be sure to put these dates and times in your calendars. God has given our children so many talents. I am looking forward to seeing new faces this year and welcoming back our seasoned members. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.
