Jesus Christ has always taught through our Catholic Church which He founded.
“Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person-among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2270)
Pope Francis in harmony with his predecessors, recently stated, “Abortion is murder...those who carry out abortions kill.”
“Formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense.” (2272)
“Sin is a personal act. Moreover, we have a responsibility for the sins committed by others when we cooperate in them:
By participating directly and voluntarily in them;
By ordering, advising, praising or approving them;
By not disclosing or not hindering them when we have an obligation to do so;
By protecting evil-doers.” (1868)
But there is hope that the hearts and minds of people will change, hope that they will recognize every human life should be protected and loved. There is hope that all acknowledge the truth that from conception, there is a new human life that should be protected and safeguarded under the law. There is hope and forgiveness for those who had an abortion and have regrets which can be experienced by participating in Project Rachel by calling 314-792-7565. There is always hope in a merciful loving God.
A simple argument for the protection of the unborn child from reason alone:
If the unborn life is growing it must be alive;
If life has human parents, it must be human; and
Living humans or humans like you and me, are valuable regardless of where they are on their path to adulthood, irrespective of where they reside. We have rights with our bodies, but not the right to end another’s life.
