When it comes down to it, what does it mean to be ready for Christmas? Will you be ready? We often need to take time and see if what we value is reflected in how we live our lives.
·Do we love and follow Jesus Christ? ·Do we value the salvation offered to us by Christ? ·Do we appreciate our families and friends?
Is this reflected in how we live our daily lives? When someone observes how we live, are these values apparent? We need to answer these questions honestly, and then we may need to make some changes. The Advent season is here; let’s not let it go by passively. Let’s prepare for our Lord’s Final Coming (referred commonly as Second Coming) and the memorial of the Lord’s birth. How can we do this? Here are a few suggestions: We can examine our prayer life, what we watch and read, and our habits and actions. Let’s continue to observe those good practices and even increase them. Let’s live more joyfully and with more integrity. Certainly, Advent is a great time to open ourselves up to our Lord’s love and mercy. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available in church every Saturday morning after the 8:00 am Mass and at 3:30-4:15. On Tuesdays after the 7:00 am and 6:30 pm Masses. We will have a Combined Advent Reconciliation Evening with opportunity for confessions on December 17 at 7:00 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Another opportunity will be on December 21 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm in our church. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is also available for those who wish to make appointment with a priest. Please call the parish office.
