Thank you to all who came out to support the KC Hall Fish Fry last Friday evening! We had a great turnout and it was a really enjoyable evening. Thank you also to our school faculty, staff, and families who volunteered to help with the Fish Fry. We are so grateful for the Knights of Columbus and for all they do to support our parishes and schools. Keep an eye out for the schedule of Friday Fish Fries at the KC Hall. Each area parish takes a turn to host the Fish Fry on different Fridays of Lent and then the KC Hall distributes the earnings in equal amounts to each school. It’s such a great program and a wonderful way to support our Grade School and Catholic education in our community.
Last Sunday we had the pleasure of attending the Rite of Election and the Call to Continuing Conversion at the Cathedral Basilica for our RCIA candidates. They have been working hard to learn more about our Catholic Faith and are now making their way through the final preparations during Lent for the Easter Sacraments. Please pray for our RCIA members: Joseph Holtmann, Shaun & Rayna Mittler and their baby Rhett, Miles Hicks, Jay Mittler, Taylor Cheselski, and Alex Baldwin. Thanks to Fr. Tony, Deacon Dave, and our RCIA team for their work in helping to prepare them for their entrance into the Church.
Just prior to the ceremony at the Cathedral, I had the privilege of attending the Archdiocesan Band Festival for grade school bands. We are so fortunate to host the St. Francis Borgia Regional Elementary Band which is made up of students from Borgia and several other area schools. They sounded great at the festival and we can be so proud of their hard work and dedication. We really appreciate them and their leaders and hope that this program continues to grow.
Next Sunday is the Annual Chicken Dinner at St. John’s (Gildehaus) Parish. As you may know, I have been helping with administering St. John’s in the absence of their pastor. It’s been a real pleasure to get to know the folks of that parish and the kids in their school. I know they’d appreciate our support of the dinner. It goes from 10:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and the food is always delicious!
Have a wonderful week! Blessings on your Lenten journey.
