Breakfast is served! Come on over to Cafe Borgia, aka, our Grade School Cafeteria, for some delicious breakfast and great company. We are so grateful to an Anonymous Donor and Maurice & Doris Hillermann (In memory of Harrison Struttmann, Gibson Obermark & Tony Gildehaus) our Parish breakfast sponsors this month. And thank you to our volunteers who make these breakfasts happen - from preparing and cooking awesome food to serving and cleaning up. We are blessed!
Our school will be off on Monday and Tuesday of this week to give our teachers, staff, and students some well deserved time off. Thanks for your support of our school. We are blessed to have the support of wonderful families and parishioners who make a lot of sacrifices to make it possible for us to keep the school going so well.
Mark your calendars. Our combined parish Lenten Penance Service will take place on Thursday, March 30th at 6:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. The priests from both parishes will be available for confessions that evening. All are welcome to attend and we look forward to seeing you there if you are able to make it. Let’s come together to celebrate God’s goodness, love, and forgiveness.
We were all saddened and shocked by the news about the Hermann Police officers who were victims of a shooting while trying to keep their community safe. Police officers stand on the “thin blue line” trying to preserve safety and security against the evil forces that are out there in our society. We all owe them a huge debt of gratitude. So be sure to thank our local, county, and state officers for the jobs they do and the effort they put into serving and protecting us.
If you would like to donate to help the families of Detective Sergeant Mason Griffith who was killed in the line of duty and the family of Officer Adam Sullentrup who was critically injured, you can do so through People’s Savings Bank (Griffith/Sullentrup Memorial and Recovery Fund) at any of their locations or by mail to People’s Savings Bank, P.O. Box 528, Hermann, MO 65041. You can also donate to their families at any branch of First State Community Bank. Borgia Grade School and other area schools will also be holding fundraisers to assist their families.
