Thank you for your support of our Parish Breakfast last weekend. Your support means so much to our 8th grade students who benefitted from helping at the breakfast as they will get to use some of the proceeds to help them with their year end activities. Thank you, also, to our volunteers and to an Anonymous Donor and Maurice and Doris Hillermann (In memory of Harrison Struttmann, Gibson Obermark & Tony Gildehaus), our sponsors for this month’s breakfast.
Our combined parish Lenten Penance Service will take place this Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. The priests from both parishes will be available for confessions beginning at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend and we look forward to seeing you there if you are able to make it. This is always a special opportunity to pray with our friends from Lourdes and celebrate God’s goodness, love, and forgiveness.
This evening I will be attending the kickoff dinner for the Archdiocese’s Annual Catholic Appeal. I want to thank Rob & Moira Vossbrink for agreeing to serve again this year as Chairs for our parish’s ACA collection. You will soon be hearing more about opportunities to contribute to the ACA. Our parish has been blessed in the past with grants awarded to us by the ACA for various projects. Many, many people from around town and around the Archdiocese count on our support of the ACA for education, counseling, assistance to women and couples to help with choosing life for their children and raising them, formation of our future priests, etc., etc. Thank you for considering a gift to this year’s Annual Catholic Appeal!
This coming Saturday we are excited to celebrate First Holy Communion with our 2nd grade students from our Parish School of Religion and our Parish School! They are excited to receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time. I love their enthusiasm and sure hope and pray that I can share that excitement of receiving Jesus. First Communion is always a blessed celebration and Fr. Tony and I are sure looking forward to celebrating with our 2nd graders and their families. Pray for them as they prepare for First Communion and open their hearts in a new way to receiving Jesus more fully into their lives.
It’s hard to believe that next Sunday (April 2nd) is Palm Sunday! We are getting close to Easter and all the celebrations around it. Fr. Tony and I are once again excited to share the hope of the Easter message with you and our guests who will join us.
