This morning we are serving up some great food at our parish breakfast in our Grade School cafeteria. Many thanks to our sponsors, Ed & Dolores Fischer and Joe & Sara Fischer. And thanks to our Scouts for helping this month. And a big thank you to our Breakfast committee and volunteers who work so hard month after month to make these happen! Come on over after Mass and enjoy some awesome food and great company!
Congratulations to our Borgia Grade School 8th graders who will graduate on Monday, May 22nd. We will celebrate a Mass together and the parents are planning a celebration for them after Mass. We are very proud of them and wish them all the best as they head to high school and beyond. Of course we remind them that they always have a home here at St. Francis Borgia Parish. Please pray for them as they embark on their summer activities.
On Tuesday evening we will bid farewell to two long time Borgia Grade School teachers, Ms. Liz Massey and Mrs. Lori Kimminau. They have both made a huge impact on our school and students over the years and they have influenced, inspired, and helped educate and form our students. What a blessing they have been to our Parish and school. Thank you, Ms. Massey and Mrs. Kimminau, for your dedication to Borgia!
On Wednesday, our Grade School students will have their last day of school for this year. Wow how time flies! We wish them well and look forward to seeing them in the fall for another year of growth in academics and faith formation. Pray for a safe summer!
This coming Saturday morning, Fr. Tony and I will be heading to the Cathedral for the Ordination of our five new priests (Fr. Boedeker, Fr. Braun, Fr. Deters, Fr. Quarnstrom, and Fr. Wessel) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis! What an exciting day for them and a promising day for the Archdiocese. Please pray for them as they prepare for their ministry as priests.
Finally, please see below for some important information regarding the announcement of the All Things New strategic plan next weekend. Thank you for all you do to support our parish family.
Fr. Mike Boehm
As we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost, we recognize the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon us. In this moment, as Archbishop Rozanski prepares to share the future structure of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, we are struck by the constant need for Pentecost to happen in our Church each and every day. It is the Spirit that allowed the early Church to move from fear to courage - from silence to a bold proclamation of the Gospel. As we have arrived at this moment in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, this indeed is a new Pentecost for us.
After nearly two years of gathering data and feedback, Archbishop Rozanski will announce his decision regarding All Things New on Saturday, May 27, the day before Pentecost.
Pastors will be sharing information regarding the announcement as it pertains to their parish at all Masses Pentecost weekend, as well as through their usual communication outlets. On Saturday evening, information regarding all parishes and priest assignments will be posted on allthingsnew.archstl.org
As we prepare our hearts to be open to follow where the Holy Spirit will lead us, consider joining parishioners all over the archdiocese in praying a Novena to the Holy Spirit in the days leading up to Pentecost. The Novena prayers and audio can be found at allthingsnew.archstl.org/Resources/Novena-to-the-Holy-Spirit.
Let’s continue to pray for each other as we discern the best path toward a renewed Catholic presence in every part of our archdiocese.
