Thank you for a wonderful celebration with Deacon Tim Reis at the 9:00 a.m. Mass last Sunday. Tim did a great job on his first day of serving as a Deacon at Mass including preaching the homily! Thank you to all who helped with the reception following the Mass. The whole morning was very special and Tim and his family were deeply appreciative of all that was done.
Our Summer Camp is in full swing and the kids seem to be enjoying it. Please exercise extra caution if you are driving around our campus as there are many of our children attending camp and they are on the move a lot!
Another great big thank you to our Rummage Sale volunteers! They raised over $5,000 with this year’s rummage sale. Lots of work and lots of heart go into our rummage sale every year. It gives some folks a chance to clean out some things for a good cause. It gives others a chance to acquire some much needed items at a lower cost than they could find at a store. The net result is that it helps our community and it helps our parish…and we are grateful!
Next Sunday is the Feast of Corpus Christi (The Solemnity of the Body & Blood of Christ). As in years past, we will have a Corpus Christi procession through the great town of Washington starting here at St. Francis Borgia Parish and ending at Our Lady of Lourdes. This is a really neat collaborative effort between our two Catholic parishes and it gives us a chance to celebrate our Catholic heritage, show to the community our belief in the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, and publicly worship the Lord as we sing and pray while processing through the streets of Wash MO. All are invited. We will begin after the 11:00 Mass in the courtyard. Hope to see you there!
In this bulletin we have included some of the results from the All Things New Parish survey we did earlier this Spring. There are literally pages and pages of results so we chose to share a sampling of the results. Our Key Parish Leaders for the All Things New initiative are reviewing the survey results which will help us to see as a parish where we are doing well and where we need to grow. Next step for all of us will be this coming Fall with the Parish listening sessions that will be held throughout the Archdiocese. Your participation in those will be a good way to let All Things New leadership hear of your ideas and opinions.
Next Sunday is Father’s Day. We will offer a prayer of blessing for all Fathers at our Masses next weekend.
Enjoy the week! God bless.
