Dear Parish Family,
As we approach the date of the new assignments for Fr. Tony, me, and the priests of the Archdiocese, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all the support, prayers, and encouragement you have given over the years. I am beyond grateful for you and for all you do to support us priests and this parish family.
I want to thank, as well, my brothers and sisters of the Washington Fire Department and the Washington Police Department. It’s been a privilege for me to serve as firefighter and chaplain. The experiences I have had in this role of service, and the people with whom I have had the honor to serve alongside, have made me a better priest and for that I am grateful.
As I move, please know that I take with me the fondest of memories of St. Francis Borgia Parish and the Washington community. It’s been a dream come true to be assigned here again. I love this community and I’ve tried my best to serve it well. And let me offer this…if I have inadvertently offended anyone or not met the needs you had at a certain time, please accept my deepest apologies and I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me and offer a prayer for me.
Please welcome Fr. Jeff Maassen, Fr. Tim Henderson, and Fr. John Deken as they work to serve St. Francis Borgia and Assumption Parishes. I know you will. They will have some new and fresh ideas as they bring a different perspective and style of ministry. Say a prayer for them this week and offer that warm Borgia family welcome.
Again, St. Francis Borgia Parish, thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Be assured of my prayers and say one for me. I will miss you but I know I take with me your love and support and that is a huge blessing and help for me. And please pray that I will serve well the parish communities of Good Shepherd, Our Lady, and Sacred Heart. I hope our paths will cross again soon. Until then, know of my prayers.
May God bless you and keep you!
Fr. Mike Boehm
