Dear Parishioners,
It is hard to believe that our Fall Festival is only 2 weeks from today! Invite your friends, family members, and neighbors to come enjoy a great time with some great food, drinks, and entertainment. We will have activities for people of all ages, including games for kids, a cornhole tournament, live music, great food, etc., etc. This is a great way for us to spread our Borgia spirit to the neighborhood and to our Washington community. Please consider volunteering to help on the day of the Festival or with the preparations for it. You can find the sign-up link at this address: https://borgiaparish.org/fall-fest-2022
Speaking of the Fall Festival, our Fall Fest raffle tickets are on sale. We will hold the early bird drawing after the 11:00 Mass today in Jesuit Hall for a lucky winner. And then on the day of the Festival we will draw the big winners! See you at the Festival on Sunday, September 11th from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. A very special word of thanks to Justin & Laura Voss, Fall Fest Chairs, and to Kyle & Jessica Mantle, Fall Fest Co-Chairs for spearheading this year’s Fall Festival!
Today is the last chance to fill out the All Things New surveys. One is called the Parish Voice Survey (https://bit.ly/SFBParishVoice) and all parishioners of any age are asked to take this survey. The other is the Young Adult (ages 18-39) survey which can be reached at this link: https://bit.ly/YoungAdultATN. Thank you for your attentiveness to this and for spreading the word about it to invite others to participate.
Last week in our bulletin we included a letter from Archbishop Rozanski about the All Things New Strategic Planning initiative. Fr. Tony and I joined with the other priests of the Archdiocese on Friday, August 19th for a meeting to hear the initial draft proposal of options for the future blueprint of the Archdiocese. The purpose of this meeting was to elicit feedback from the priests. The next step will be to hear feedback from the Key Parish Leaders from each parish in the Archdiocese which will take place during September. After that the parishes will be hosting listening sessions. As soon as we hear when ours will be, I will let you know. As this process develops, there will be opportunities to hear feedback from more and more people with the hope that everyone can voice their ideas. This is an important process for our Archdiocese, so I ask that you keep it and Archbishop Rozanski in your prayers.
Have a wonderful week. Thank you for all you do for SFB Parish!
Fr. Mike Boehm
