Dear Parish Family,
Happy Labor Day weekend! We celebrate the dignity and value of human work. On this weekend I often think of all those who labored to build our beautiful church, school and parish buildings. They took pride in what they did and the craftsmanship and care they put into their work allows us to continue to enjoy these beautiful structures. Come join us for 7:00 a.m. Mass on Labor Day if you can. I hope you get to enjoy the day!
Fr. Tony and I had a great time last Saturday participating in the Soap Box Derby that ran down Cedar St. as part of the Missouri Book Festival held in Washington last weekend. Fr. Tony beat me in his souped up derby car by 1/10th of a second! Yes, it was a classic photo finish! He may have cheated, but I’ve already forgiven him! What a blast for us and what an honor to be able to participate. We are so blessed to live in a community like we live in and to have our Church right in the middle of all of these events.
Our Fall Festival is next weekend! Invite your friends, family members, and neighbors to come enjoy a great time with some great food, drinks, and entertainment. We will have activities for people of all ages, including games for kids, a cornhole tournament, live music, great food, etc., etc. This is a great way for us to spread our Borgia spirit to the neighborhood and to our Washington community. Please consider volunteering to help on the day of the Festival or with the preparations for it. You can find the sign-up link at this address: https://borgiaparish.org/fall-fest-2022
See you at the Festival on Sunday, September 11th from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. A very special word of thanks to Justin & Laura Voss, Fall Fest Chairs, and to Kyle & Jessica Mantle, Fall Fest Co-Chairs for spearheading this year’s Fall Festival, and to all of our great volunteers who make this event happen!
Have a great Labor Day weekend!
