Here we are in Thanksgiving week! We have lots to be thankful for in our parish. In fact, this week we get to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation for our 8th graders with Cardinal Dolan. Confirmation will be on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Please pray for our Confirmation candidates as they prepare to receive the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation.
On Thanksgiving Day we will have Mass at 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Please join us that morning if possible to gather in praise and thanks to our God for all the blessings he has bestowed upon us. What a wonderful way to start Thanksgiving Day. If you will be traveling, please be safe and enjoy the holiday weekend.
Beginning next weekend, we will be bringing back the option for people to receive the Precious Blood from the chalice at Mass. If you would like to receive from the chalice, come forward to the ministers who will be distributing the Precious Blood. They will be located on either side of the sanctuary. This has been requested by many folks and supported by our Liturgy Commission. We will evaluate how this goes and what the needs dictate as we move forward.
All are welcome to join Archbishop Rozanski on Saturday, December 3, at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral Basilica (on Lindell Blvd.) for the All Things New Mass of Unity. This is an opportunity for Catholics from across the Archdiocese to come together as a community to pray for the future of the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
Don’t forget our Grade School Christmas raffle. Tickets are available from any school family or call the parish or school office. You can also find a link to purchase them here: https://bit.ly/PayIt_2022CmasCashRaffle. Early bird drawing will be on November 22, and the final drawing will be on December 20.
Our Ladies Sodality will once again host the Christmas Bazaar and Bake Sale on Sunday, December 4th from 7:30 - 11:00 a.m. in the Grade School cafeteria.
Also on December 4th in the evening, we will be offering Advent by Candlelight for the women of our parish. Contact Kyra Gulledge for more details and information. (Men, keep an eye out for our Advent by Taillight on December 14th. More info to come!)
Check out the new finish on the front doors of Church! They look beautiful thanks to the hard work of Quality Painting and Taping. Thanks to Dave Kampschroeder for making sure we got those refinished before winter!
Church cleaners are looking for a few volunteers to help on Monday mornings. The commitment would be for one Monday per month. If you are interested, please call the Parish Office or Carolyn Kohler at 314-221-2858. This is a great opportunity to help the parish and to help you live out your call to Stewardship!
Fr. Tony and I would like to express once again our thanks to you for all you do for our parish. And we are very grateful for being assigned here to St. Francis Borgia. We feel so blessed to be a part of this parish and community.
