As we make our proximate preparations for Christmas, we know this one will be different from any other so far in our lifetime. But even a pandemic can’t take away the good news of Christmas! As we celebrate this history changing event of God’s Word becoming flesh, let us remember our call to bear the Christ Child in our thoughts, words, and actions. Let us do our part to make Christ present and visible to the people in our lives by how we choose to speak and by how we choose to treat others.
Allow me to offer a reminder that we are asking that you sign up to let us know which Christmas Mass you plan to attend so we can get an idea for planning purposes. (Our Masses on Christmas Eve will be at 3:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Our Christmas Day Masses will be at 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.) Note: The sign-up is not for reserved seating. The sign-up is meant to help us plan for ministers, etc. You can easily sign-up (and even change which Mass you intend to attend) by going to this site: https://bit.ly/SignUp_SFB_ChristmasMasses. You can also sign up on the paper form in Jesuit Hall on the large table if you prefer to do that or call the parish office. Thank you for your assistance with this and for your patience.
Today (Sunday) Fr. Tony and I will host our last Advent Sunday Evening Prayer and Chat with the Priests. You can easily access it from the main page of our parish website or find us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/borgiaparish/. So far we have had a lot of fun with this and we hope you can make it. Join us at 5:30 p.m. this evening!
Please remember to wear a mask when you come to Church. It would be most helpful if you can bring your own mask from home as a regular practice. We will keep some on hand for the rare occasions when someone forgets to bring a mask. This will help us to preserve our stock on hand at the parish. Thanks for your attentiveness to this.
As we look ahead to the Feast of Mary, Mother of God (Jan. 1, 2021), we will celebrate Masses for the Holy Day on Thursday, December 31st at 4:30 p.m. and on Friday, January 1st at 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. I think most if not all of us are looking forward to bidding farewell to what has been a difficult year while anticipating a better 2021. Due to the pandemic, the celebration of this Year’s Feast of Mary, Mother of God will not be obligatory, but Fr. Tony and I wanted to offer the opportunity to celebrate with you this Feast as we honor Mary and together offer our hopes and prayers through Mary’s intercession. Have a Blessed Christmas! Know of my thanks to you for all the support that you offer our Parish, especially during these difficult times. Please be safe and practice healthy habits as you celebrate this Christmas. I’ll be praying for you.
