I received a letter from Father James Mason, President-Rector of the Kenrick-Glennon Seminary. He wrote to congratulate us on the generosity to the Seminary from our Christmas Collection of $4,078. I personally want to thank you for your contributions to the formation of our future priests of the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Hopefully, one of them will be assigned here at St. Francis Borgia in the next ten to twenty years.
We have completed the Christmas Season, and now we have 6-1/2 weeks before Ash Wednesday. This will give us time to catch our breath, work on our New Year's promises and find some routine in our lives. Routine is always good because it gives us a schedule, which offers stability in our lives.
Please be sure to take the time for daily prayer during the week and weekends, keeping the Mass in that routine. We must keep in mind that you and I do not exist without God’s daily presence. The least we can do is think about Him every day and hopefully more than once a day. God really does not need us, but we really need Him. Even though He does not need us, He loved us so much that He sent His beloved Son Jesus to die for us and free us from our sins so that we can spend eternity with Him.
Thanks again for all you do!
