Dear Missionary Disciples of
Jesus Christ,

Many of the current statistics about people attending Mass, being baptized and married, and leaving the faith are extremely disheartening. These were the significant reason for All Things New. These statistics will hopefully continue to inspire all of us to proclaim our wonderful Catholic faith, the Church Jesus Christ founded and promised to guide in truth through the Holy Spirit.

I believe an important factor for the loss of living in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ is the lack of missionary impulse. What do I mean? How often do we talk about Jesus Christ, or our personal faith story? Have you ever said to anyone, “I love my Catholic faith and here is why?”

Have we:

• Invited someone to a parish activity?
• Talked to anyone who does not come to the Source and Summit (the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass) and asked why or how we can help them understand?
• Reflected on why we pray and go to the Source and Summit (the Celebration of the Eucharist)?
• Asked someone to learn about our Catholic faith, or asked if they are interested in becoming Catholic?

You do not have to be a theologian to do these things.
