October 31, 2020 --
Dear Parishioners,
Greetings!
A few updates about life here in the Rectory. Fr. Tony continues to improve and hopes to be back at it on Sunday (tomorrow). From everything that we hear, it takes awhile to bounce back from some of these symptoms, especially fatigue, so please be patient. We will make the call sometime this afternoon (Saturday) to see if he's feeling good enough to have Mass on Sunday. As for me, I think I'm going through some similar symptoms that Fr. Tony experienced with the virus - some coughing, fever, fatigue, etc. We are both following medical advice and will continue to do so. I hope to be able to return to duty sometime late next week, but we will just have to see how things go.
This evening at 4:30, Fr. Gary Hogan, a Resurrectionist Priest from St. Louis, will be celebrating Mass with you. Our Deacons will help to give out candy after Mass as a special treat.
Fr. Tony and I miss being able to celebrate Mass with you and talk with you in person, and we miss being able to do the whole host of other things that we love to do as priests. Hopefully we will come through this with a greater appreciation for life and ministry, and certainly a greater appreciation for who you are and what you do.
Our thanks go to our great Parish and School staff, to our Deacons, and to all who have helped keep things moving along in the Parish. We are indeed blessed.
A word of thanks for all who have shared messages of encouragement and kind gifts of food that were dropped off on our porch! We can’t thank you enough.
Let's take a moment to pray for all who have contracted Covid-19 and for their loved ones who support them. Pray especially for those who have lost their lives due to the Coronavirus and for those who grieve their loss. And let us pray for the medical professionals who care for them and for their families who support them in their difficult work.
Be assured of our prayers for you and kindly say one for us.
Stay healthy and safe. God bless you.
