Dear Parishioners,
Join us for breakfast this morning! Our parish breakfasts are back and we will plan to have them on the 3rd Sunday of each month. Take a morning off from cooking and enjoy some great food prepared by even better people! Thanks to all who have volunteered to help with the breakfast today. The proceeds from today’s breakfast will go toward supporting our 8th graders’ activities coming up this spring.
Speaking of breakfasts…we are always looking for people to financially sponsor a breakfast with a donation of at least $500. This helps offset the cost of food so more support can go to the parish organization that receives the proceeds from the breakfast. We are so appreciative of individuals, families, businesses, and even groups of friends or neighbors who support our breakfasts. Sponsors may remain anonymous if they wish. If you would be interested, please feel free to contact me or Dominic Gildehaus (314.402.2490). Thanks for your consideration of this.
Many thanks to all who were able to help with the decorating of Church for the Christmas Season and to all who were able to help with putting the decorations away for another year. Thank you as well to our faithful Heavenly Dusters who keep the Church so clean as they weekly gather on Monday mornings throughout the year. Once again, the Church looked so beautiful for Christmas this year!. If you see some poinsettias around Jesuit Hall or near the piano by the altar, feel free to take some home with you. We appreciate all who donated in support of the Church decorations and we pray for all those in whose memory those donations were offered.
Thank you as well to all who were able to make a special end of year “Christmas gift” to the parish. We collected $56,826.07 which will help support our Building Maintenance Fund, Parish and School operations, and to our School Technology needs. As always, I will be consulting with our Parish Finance Committee on how to best utilize the gifts with which you entrust our Parish. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Winter weather announcement…as we get deeper into the winter season with the ongoing possibility of snow and ice, please know we will do our best to keep access to the church as safe as possible. If we get winter precipitation, please use extra caution as you approach and leave the Church. If you need to stay home or feel safer doing so, you have every dispensation and permission you need to be excused from your Sunday obligation. I would rather you be safe than risk an injury. Please know that, for your safety, some entrances and stairways to church will be restricted. Winter weather always poses an extra challenge to our maintenance crew, so we are sure grateful to them for their extra work. If you’d like a volunteer opportunity to help with these efforts, please let me or Joe Holtmeier know. Thanks in advance for your patience and flexibility.
Fr. Tony will be leaving for Washington, D.C. on Wednesday with a group of students from our Grade School and High School to participate in the Pro-Life March. Please pray for them (and him!) as they travel by bus to witness for life. They plan to return on Sunday evening.
Have a great week! As always, please know I am praying for you and your loved ones.
Fr. Mike Boehm
