We had a great celebration of Catholic Schools Week this past week! The students, faculty and staff enjoyed the week and celebrated our heritage as a Catholic School and our strong tradition of St. Francis Borgia Grade School. We sure are blessed to have our school and for it to be so strong. And we always welcome more students of all faiths. If you know of anyone who might be interested, encourage them to call or email Mrs. Pahl or me, and we would be excited to speak with them about what our school has to offer. Thanks for your support of our Grade School!
I recently received a letter from Fr. Jim Mason, Rector of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, thanking our Parish family for our donations to the Seminary Christmas Collection. Through the envelopes that you turned in, we raised $4,038 to help support the formation of our seminarians. Please keep the seminarians and the formation staff in your prayers.
Ash Wednesday is on February 17th. We will have Mass here at 7:00 am, 12:00 noon, and at 6:30 pm. We will hold a school Mass at a different time and I’ll be celebrating a Mass at Borgia High School during the day. As with most things these days, we will slightly modify how ashes are distributed, but more on that next week.
We will highlight some opportunities for spiritual growth during the days of Lent through the bulletin, email and social media. Due to the pandemic, we will not be holding any Soup Nights this year. Let’s hope and pray that we can get back to those next year.
As always, thank you for your cooperation and patience. And thank you for all you do to help keep yourselves and others safe and healthy. Let’s keep it up, SFB!
