Welcome to the First Sunday of Lent. I hope and pray that these days of the Lenten season will help us grow in faith, hope, and love. I’ll share the list of ideas for Lenten practices, but there are many other ideas that you may think of to enrich your journey through these 40 days.
Here are some ideas: weekly Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Tuesdays beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 6:15 p.m., just before 6:30 p.m. Mass. Some ideas for Lent to consider: attend daily Mass more often; celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation during these 40 days; check out some materials on FORMED.org; make an extra effort to pray and come to Mass as a family every Sunday; invite a neighbor to attend Church with you; join us for Stations of the Cross on Fridays at 7:00 p.m.; pray for a few minutes each day. Visit our website for details on the parish events, resources and reflections for the Lenten season.
At the Masses this weekend we will hear from our All Things New Key Parish Leaders who will help guide our parish through this process. The survey was released on Ash Wednesday. If we have your current contact information, such as your email address or cell phone number, you should have already received a link via email or text to take the survey, which is called the Disciple Maker Index. Please take the time to fill out this survey thoughtfully and honestly. We need each parishioner high school age and older to complete the survey. This will help us gain some valuable feedback on what we are doing well as a parish and where we might be able to improve. Thank you in advance for your participation.
If you did not receive communication from the parish, please feel free to call the parish office. Donna will be able to forward the information to you. We will also post the survey link on our social media pages and on a few signs in the Church vestibule and Jesuit Hall. If you don’t have access to a computer but would like to electronically fill out the survey, you may stop by the parish office and use a computer here during regular office hours. If you would rather fill out a paper version of the survey, we will have some available in Jesuit Hall and at the Parish Office so you can pick one up and return it after you have completed it. We have a locked drop box on the Gathering Table in Jesuit Hall for you to submit and easily return your paper survey. Thanks for your attention to this.
