Welcome to Holy Week! I hope and pray that we can take advantage of this time to devote some extra time to pray and participate in our parish liturgies on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday. Our schedule for Holy Week is as follows (all services will be livestreamed on our Parish Facebook account:
Holy Thursday: 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Lord’s Supper. Time for prayer will follow in the Choir Room which will remain open until the conclusion of Night Prayer that will begin at 10:45 p.m.
Good Friday: 8:00 a.m. Morning Prayer. 12:00 noon Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion & Death. 7:00 p.m. Stations of the Cross. All of these prayer opportunities will take place in Church.
As we prepare to come together to celebrate, we need to continue to be safe and keep each other safe. Please continue to wear your mask (bring one with you to Church), sanitize/wash your hands frequently, and maintain a safe distance from those who are not members of your family. Let’s continue to exercise hospitality and joyfully welcome all who are coming to Church in person. If you see someone who needs assistance, please offer to help or direct them to an Usher. Overflow seating is available in the Choir Loft and in the Choir Room where the Mass is televised. On Easter Sunday the Masses will also be televised live in the Banquet Room on the 3rd floor of Jesuit Hall and in the Franciscan Room on the lower level of Jesuit Hall.
Join us tonight at 5:30 p.m. for our final Evening Prayer and Chat with the Priests. Fr. Tony and I have really enjoyed the live streaming. We pray, laugh, and talk about issues of faith. Join us if you can (www.facebook.com/borgiaparish). I’m sorry that I missed last week, but the Fire Department was dispatched for a house fire.
Congratulations to our students from School and PSR who received their First Holy Communion yesterday! What a joy and blessing to be able to be with them for their much anticipated day.
Have a great Holy Week and Easter. Let us each do what we can to make it holy.
