Our Annual Catholic Appeal effort continues this week. Please prayerfully consider a pledge to the ACA for this year. Our Parish goal is the same as last year, $101,248. We surpassed it last year and it is my hope that we will surpass it again this year as the money collected goes toward many worthy ministries within the Archdiocese of St. Louis, including helping many people in our area, e.g., St. Francis Borgia Regional High School received $130,000 and our parish has been awarded $40,000 to help with the new air conditioning in our gym. And these are just 2 examples! Your gift to the ACA will help people receive counseling at an affordable price. It will also assist mothers and couples with choosing life for their unborn child. A gift to the ACA helps lots of schools and gives direct assistance to those who are in many types of need.
I strongly encourage you to join me in making a gift to the Annual Catholic Appeal. I would suggest that you visit
aca.archstl.org for more information to see how the ACA impacts people in our Archdiocese and then pray about making a gift. It’s always incredible to me to see how when we put our gifts together that we can make such a difference to others. No matter the size of your gift, it will go toward a good cause! If for some reason you are unable to make a gift this year, please note that on your pledge card. Your submission of your ACA pledge card, whether you give or not, really helps us down the line with saving time and expenses. Thank you for your attention to this.
Fr. Tony will be away this week attending the first in a series of conferences sponsored by the Institute of Priestly Formation. He will be attending the conference in Chicago with priests from all over the country to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Ignatian Spirituality. St. Ignatius of Loyola has given our Church this great gift of spirituality and discernment. This program through the IPF is helpful and is really a benefit for priests. I was fortunate to attend this program beginning in 2014. Fr. Tony will be attending these conferences 3 times a year for 3 years. Let’s pray for him and those who will be participating and pray for safe travels.
I hope and pray that you have a good week! As we welcome the month of May, let’s turn to Mary, the Mother of Jesus, to pray for our Grade School and High School students and staff members as they wind down what has been a very strange and difficult year. We are so happy that we will once again be hosting our Knights Summer Camp again this year. We are blessed at St. Francis Borgia and I am deeply grateful for your support and prayers.
