On this weekend of Memorial Day, our thoughts and prayers are with the members of our military who have made the ultimate sacrifice while defending our country. We are so grateful to and for all the men and women who have served in our armed forces and for those who continue to serve. We pray for them and their families. On Memorial Day, we will have Mass at 7:00 a.m. Enjoy this holiday weekend, but let us not forget the purpose of it.
This past week we finished the school year at SFB Grade School and High School. Welcome home to all of our students who have been away at college. I hope our students and all of us have a safe and enjoyable summer.
Pray for our new priests! On Saturday morning, May 29th, six men were ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of St. Louis: Fr. Charlie Archer, Fr. Mitchell Baer, Fr. Joe Detweiler, Fr. Edward Godefroid, Fr. Jack Ruzicka, and Fr. Ryan Truss. Please pray for these young men as they prepare for their lives of priestly ministry in the Archdiocese. This is also the time of year when some of our priests prepare for a transition from one parish to another. It’s a time of mixed emotions and it’s one of the most difficult parts of being a priest, to be sure, so let’s pray for them as they prepare to bid farewell to one parish and embrace another.
Next Sunday we will celebrate our Corpus Christi Procession at 4:30 p.m. As in the past, we will prayerfully process with the Eucharist from St. Francis Borgia to Our Lady of Lourdes as an opportunity to share our love for the Eucharist and pray for our parishes and our community. Join us if you are able. More information and details are available on page 8 of this bulletin.
Enjoy this holiday weekend. Thanks for all you do to support our parish family.
