As a reminder, we would like to convene our Ushers/Greeters, Eucharistic Ministers, and Lectors for a gathering to renew ourselves in these ministries through some prayer and then a quick meeting to review duties associated with each ministry. For your convenience, we will offer two evening sessions on Monday, July 12th at 6:30 p.m. and on Tuesday, July 20th, at 7:00 p.m. If you are an Usher, Lector, or Eucharistic Minister, we would ask that you attend one of these sessions if possible. If you are interested in becoming a member of one of these ministries, please contact me or the Parish office and we can put you in contact with the coordinator of the ministry in which you are interested. We are indeed blessed by all who serve our parish in these ways.
Here’s some great news that was in the bulletin a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to be sure you didn’t miss this! Congratulations to new SFBGS graduates Jackson Comely, Madelyn Christiansen, and Drew Eckhoff for receiving the St. Francis Borgia Regional High School Academic High School Scholarships! Our students are three of the six top academic students from Catholic schools that send students to SFBRHS. Rankings are determined by using the achievement scores on the High School Placement Test at the 8th grade level. We are proud of these students’ accomplishments and look forward to following their success in high school. The support of St. Francis Borgia Parish has contributed to this academic success.
This Thursday we will be hosting another Thirsty Third Thursday in the courtyard behind the rectory. All are welcome! Come anytime after 6:00 p.m. and bring whatever you would like - a lawn chair, a yard game (we have washers and cornhole), and your favorite drink. If you can make it, we’d love to see you there! Our plan is to continue these gatherings each month as a chance to get together in an informal way and enjoy each other’s company.
At this time of year my thoughts turn toward the Washington Town and Country Fair. It’s not far away! We can all be grateful for the work of our Fair Board for the countless hours they spend throughout the year preparing for this great event. Thanks, too, to all of our volunteers who work at the Fair and who help to provide such a great experience for those who attend. Let’s keep in our prayers the Fair Board, the volunteers, and all who will come to the Fair to support our community.
Have a wonderful week! Thank you for all you do to support our Parish Family.
