Dear Parishioners,
It’s Fair Week! Come on out to the Fair Parade today (Sunday) and look for the incredibly awesome SFBGS Float. We had a bunch of volunteers who spent a lot of time making our float a work of art. Thank you to all who helped with the building of the float. You make us proud!
I hope to see you at the Fair. Many thanks to our Fair Board for all the work they put into this wonderful event. Our very own parishioner and SFBGS parent, John Ballmann, is the Fair Board Chairman this year. Thanks, John, to you, the Fair Board, and to all the volunteers who help to make the Fair an enjoyable event for our local and out of town guests! Our community is indeed blessed. Let’s pray for the safety of all who will be participating in and working at the Fair.
Some good news to share about our Parish’s participation in the Annual Catholic Appeal. To date we have collected $120,673, well over our goal of $101,248 and our challenge goal of $110,793. Notably, our percent of parishioners who participated in the ACA is at 46%, up from 45% last year. And the number of new donors stands at 71, with our goal being 62. Once again our parish responds to the needs of our larger community so generously. As I’ve mentioned before, many people receive assistance from the Annual Catholic Appeal, including folks from our own community. Thank you to Tim & Gwen Mauntel for chairing our parish efforts this year and thanks to Rob & Moira Vossbrink for taking on the role of co-chairs. Rob & Moira will chair the parish’s ACA efforts next year. Thank you to all who were able to give to the ACA and for all of your prayerful support of the Appeal and of those who receive assistance from it.
