Welcome to Fall Festival Weekend! We are excited to be celebrating this in-person this year and I hope you can join us for at least part of the day on Sunday. We will begin at 11:00 a.m. and end with the Raffle Drawing at 6:00 p.m. In between, you can enjoy fantastic, world famous fried chicken and roast beef dinners and then sit out under the pavilion to enjoy a great meal. Listen to live music. Play a few games. Let the kids enjoy some fun games and activities just for them. Enjoy your favorite beverage and a snack or two along the way. Visit with other parish members and maybe meet a few new folks. It’s gonna be a great day. It’ll be even better if you’re there! Hope to see you at the Fall Festival!
We are so grateful to Phillip and Mary Kleekamp for chairing this year’s Festival, and to Justin and Laura Voss for taking on the role of co-chairs. We are blessed by our many volunteers who have been working hard to make this day great. Please thank them and consider volunteering in the future. This parish community always steps up when needed and I couldn’t be more proud and grateful.
This Thursday, September 16th, we will host another Thirsty Third Thursday in the courtyard behind the Rectory. All are invited. Bring a lawn chair, your favorite beverage, and maybe a snack to share and a game to play. We have cornhole and washers to enjoy on the beautiful lawn. Come anytime after 6:00.
On this weekend when we remember the 20th Anniversary of 9/11 and the horrific terrorist attacks on our nation’s home front, let us pray for all whose lives were lost and their loved ones. Let us pray, too, for all who continue to serve and protect us as members of the Armed Forces or as first responders. May God continue to bless the United States of America.
Reminder: Next week we will restart the 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening Masses. The location will be here at St. Francis Borgia Church. The collection (except for those in parish envelopes) will go to support our regional Youth Ministry efforts. Our high school students will serve as lectors, ushers, servers, etc. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Fr. Tony or me. Our plan is to host this each Sunday with the assistance of priests in area parishes. Please keep an eye out in the bulletin for any Sundays when there won’t be Mass, e.g., October 31 and December 26.)
Have a blessed week! See you at the Fall Festival!
