We were sure happy to
welcome back our PSR students last week! It was good to see their smiling faces once again for the start of a new school year that will be filled with faith formation and preparation for Sacraments. If you need any information about our PSR program, please contact our Director of Religious Education, Mrs. Kyra Gulledge.
Sunday’s the day for our
Fall Festival Raffle drawing! Thank you for your support of the Fall Festival Raffle. Because of your generosity, this raffle has been quite successful. I know we all miss the opportunity to gather in person for the annual Fall Festival, but we sure hope that next year we can be back together and enjoy an in-person celebration better than ever! My heartfelt thanks to Tim & Nikki Larrison (chairs) and Philip & Mary Kleekamp (co-chairs) for their leadership. And thank you to all who supported the raffle by purchasing and/or selling tickets. We are indeed blessed!
Come on up to the KC Hall next Sunday, September 20th, for some good fried chicken. Volunteers from our parish will be staffing the kitchen and bringing food outside for the drive-through event. It’s great tasting and you’ll get a break from cooking that Sunday meal! Fr. Tony and I plan to learn how to prep the chickens and we’ll be around as much as we can on the 20th.
Proceeds benefit our parish! Come on by the KC Hall anytime between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
You are invited to join Fr. Tony and me this Thursday for our first
SFB Thirsty Third Thursdays! On the third Thursday of every month we will gather from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the courtyard behind the rectory just to be together. All parishioners of any age are invited. Bring blankets, lawn chairs, your favorite drink, maybe a game to play, some food for you and your family if you wish, etc. We will be able to maintain safe distancing and enjoy some time outside together. There will not be any program or anything formal. It’s our hope to gather for some time to be together, relax, and enjoy each other’s company. We plan to offer this each month on the third Thursday of the month. Hope to see you at the SFB Thirsty Third Thursday gatherings when you can make it. No need to RSVP. Our first Thirsty Third Thursday will be this Thursday, September 17th.
I had the opportunity to meet with Archbishop Rozanski a couple of weeks ago. He has asked me to continue in my role as Vicar General for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The role of the Vicar General is to assist the Archbishop with the administration of the archdiocese. While Msgr. Dennis Stehly serves full-time in this role, my duties will be somewhat limited. I will, however, need to attend some meetings each month and serve in other capacities from time to time. I will also be helping Archbishop Rozanski and Bishop Rivituso by celebrating Confirmations at various parishes, though most of these will be in the spring season. I wanted to let you know about this and to let you know that I appreciate your understanding. Fr. Tony and our parish staff have been tremendously helpful with this and I’m grateful to them for filling in for me when I can’t be at a parish meeting or event.
Have a great week! Thanks for your support of our Parish.
