Dear SFB Parish Family,
Next Sunday will be quite the treat as we celebrate First Holy Communion. Due to the pandemic, the spring celebration was postponed until this fall. We have made some adjustments to how we will celebrate, but we are planning to have a wonderful celebration with our current 3rd graders next weekend. The Masses for First Communion will be in the afternoon next Sunday and are only for the families of the First Communion class. Please keep them in your prayers as we get ready for Sunday and as the students prepare to receive the Lord in Holy Communion for the first time!
Fr. Tony is leading another Bible Study on Sunday evenings. The group meets virtually and they are covering St. Paul’s Letter to the Romans. It actually started last weekend, but I’m guessing you can get in if you so desire. (Just tell him I said it’s ok!) Feel free to email or call Fr. Tony for more information if you are interested.
We are partnering with Our Lady of Lourdes to restart our Youth Ministry. On the 1st Tuesday of the month, we will have an evening for middle school age students at Our Lady of Lourdes from 6:30-8:00 pm. All students, no matter where they attend school are invited to attend. And on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, we will host a gathering for high school students beginning with Mass at 6:30 p.m. followed by a program over at Notre Dame Hall on the second floor. All high school students are welcome!
The Annual collection to support the Permanent Diaconate in the Archdiocese of St. Louis will take place next weekend. There are special envelopes for this in your packets and also a way to contribute if you utilize online giving. If you would like to send a contribution to the parish office, please do so and be sure to mark it so we know it’s intended for this collection. Thanks to Deacons Leon Noelker, Dennis Meinert and Dave Tobben for their service to our parish. And thanks to Tim Reis as he continues his formation for the Permanent Diaconate. We are blessed by their ministry.
Have a great week! Thanks for all you do to support our parish.
Fr. Mike Boehm
