Dear Parishioners,
Happy Sausage Supper Day! Come on by to enjoy some of our delicious sausage and fixin’s from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Drive through from the 3rd St. entrance near school and proceed through the lot to the window and we will serve you there. Take the day off from cooking and enjoy the world famous meal! We can all be so thankful to Danny and Amanda Williams for chairing this event and to all of our wonderful volunteers for their help to make this possible for our parish and our neighbors from the community. We are blessed!
Today, the Washington Fire Department will be hosting an Open House for the community at our headquarters station located at 200 E. 14th St. All ages are welcome to come by and see the facility and the fire trucks up close. Firefighters will be on hand to give tours and answer any questions about fire safety that you might have. It’s always a fun day with activities for kids and you can even win an attendance prize. Come on by before or after you enjoy the Sausage Supper. The Open House will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Looking ahead, on Saturday, October 23rd our SFBGS Home & School Association will be hosting our Trunk or Treat beginning at 6:00 p.m. It’s always a fun event! All are invited. For more information, please see the information about this in this bulletin. Hope to see you there!
Fr. Tony will be away this week with a group of priests from around the country for a retreat. This retreat is part of a Spiritual Direction training program which is sponsored by the Institute of Priestly Formation. Let’s pray for him that he enjoys a week of rest and relaxation surrounded by opportunities for quiet prayer. He has promised to remember us in his prayers as well. (At least there won’t be any wild parties at the rectory this week!)
Well maybe...we will have our Thirsty Third Thursday this Thursday evening beginning at about 6:00 p.m. in the courtyard behind the rectory. Bring a lawn chair and your favorite drink and spend time with some other parishioners in a relaxed atmosphere. We have cornhole and washers to play if anyone is interested.
Have a great week!
Fr. Mike Boehm
