Dear Faithful of St. Louis,
SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital is the only free-standing Catholic pediatric hospital in the country, touching the lives of more than 200,000 children each year from the St. Louis area, Metro East Illinois, across the country and around the world. Their faith-filled doctors, nurses and caregivers serve all children in need of exceptional pediatric health care, regardless of their family’s ability to pay.
Glennon Sunday contributions from our Catholic community continue to support and sustain the hospital, keeping them at the forefront of pediatric health care. As Chairman of the SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Board of Governors, I ask you to show your support, along with the thousands across the region in the spirit of giving on Glennon Sunday weekend June 3-4, 2017.
Last year, our St. Louis Archdiocese collectively raised more than $500,000. Each year, donations to Glennon Sunday benefit the Children’s Fund to meet the immediate needs of the hospital. Proceeds from this year’s Glennon Sunday appeal will support the ongoing needs of the hospital, including inpatient oncology and cardiology care.
Today I call on the Catholic community to make a gift this Glennon Sunday weekend, offering an opportunity to answer God’s call to show compassion and mercy for the sick, to demonstrate love and concern for others, as well as help support the critical, lifesaving work performed at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon. You can make your gift at Mass on Glennon Sunday or online by clicking HERE.
On behalf of the many children and families who will benefit from your gift, I express my sincere appreciation for your continued prayers and for your support of Glennon Sunday, where “Faith and Healing Unite.”
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Robert J. Carlson
Archbishop of St. Louis
Chairman of the Board of Governors
