Fr. Joe is out of town this week, so, for the second time, the priest post comes from the memoirs of Fr. Tony, the youngest priest in the state of Missouri.
I'm quickly learning that fall is a very busy time for us here at St. Francis Borgia! Last week we had homecoming for both Borgia and Washington high schools, and the craft fair was downtown all weekend, too. (Thank you for your patience with parking!). This weekend our parish is prime real estate for the parade for the Washington Band competition, and parishioners will participate in the Rosary March and Life Chain on Sunday. Next weekend, we can look forward to commemorating the feast day of our patron, St. Francis Borgia, and some of our grade school families will be celebrating by camping out on our soccer field. If that wasn't enough excitement, we also have Cardinal's postseason baseball to cheer on at the same time!
I am so blessed to be a part of such an active parish. Thank you for all you do at our parish and for how you witness to Jesus in your homes and in the greater Washington community.
