I have been thinking about the availability of weekday sacraments. We offer Mass every day, including every Saturday morning, which most parishes in our area do not. We offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation three times a week on Tuesday mornings, Saturday mornings and Saturday afternoons. On holy days we offer an evening Mass for people who cannot attend in the morning or midday.
Beginning in August, we will add a Mass on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. with the availability of confessions afterwards. Like the morning confessions, there is no ending time, just when we finish. Sometimes it lasts for 10 minutes and other times more than half an hour. This would be a great opportunity for people who work to be able to attend a weekday Mass. It also gives us another opportunity for confession in the evening. Of course, I will need some lectors, servers, and Eucharistic Ministers to help out. I will put a list in the vesting sacristy for people to sign up. Thanks for your cooperation and support.
I received a letter from Archbishop Carlson thanking our youth for their participation in the Annual Catholic Appeal. Our youth in the school and PSR donated $1,246.83. This was outstanding and very sacrificial. We are one of the few parishes who have their youth participate. I thank Mrs. Pahl, our principal, and Mrs. Gulledge, our former CRE, for their guidance and inspiration to have our youth participate in this appeal.
I will be gone from Sunday afternoon (July 14) until Friday evening (July 19). Please contact Fr. Tony if you have any spiritual needs
