The theme of Vacation Bible School was Shipwrecked Rescued by Jesus and a blast was had by all. I am so appreciative and thankful for all those parents who brought their children to some or all the nights of the VBS. I was so grateful to see so many young people from our parish volunteer as leaders and facilitators. They ranged from 5th graders to college students. I am also thankful to the adults who helped and all were under the guidance and inspiration of Kyra Gulledge our CRE teacher. It was a great opportunity for us to share our faith in Jesus. Praise the Lord!!!
A few weeks ago I made a request in the bulletin that there was a need for a chairperson for the parish rummage sale. Jeanne Hoelscher stepped in with the assistance of other parishioners. They worked many hours on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday accepting donations and separating and sorting items. Then Thursday morning they finished all that work so they could open to the public at 3:00 pm, at that time people were lined up outside and ready to rush in and buy. They sold on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. On Saturday any item not purchased was taken to Good Will to donate. Many hours were put in by many people, they did not sign up or were called to volunteer, but instead just showed up to help and pitch in. Thanks for all those who worked in any way to make the rummage sale a great success, I appreciate you all.
Behind the scenes there has been teachers, staff, parents and students working on the float which you will see this afternoon in the parade. They do it to help promote our school and parish because of the love they have for our school and parish. Yes, they do have some fun doing this project, but it takes them away from their families and it is work. Thanks to all our parade float workers and helpers.
