Pastor's Notes - 08/25/2019

You will see in the bulletin a golf tournament, “ gofund charity golf classic”, taking place on September 21, which will benefit our Parish.  The proceeds will go to the school air conditioning project.  This tournament replaces the James Aholt Memorial Tournament.  The Aholt family decided to no longer run this tournament, thus a new committee was formed.  Each year, the tournament proceeds will benefit a group or a charity.  This year, the committee chose our parish and will donate the proceeds to our school air conditioning project.  I encourage all who wish to, to play in the tournament.  Thanks to the committee for choosing SFB Parish as its first annual golf tournament recipient.

     To date, we have received a number of pledges towards the air conditioning fund.  One was especially significant, which will put us over the $100,000 mark.  That means we are half way to our goal!  Thanks to all.

     As most of you know, I send out Birthday cards to all our parishioners.  One thing I have noticed is that some of the young adults of our parish families no longer live at home, and in some cases, are married and have moved away.  Please advise the parish office if your adult child has a permanent address away from the parish, so that we can keep our records up to date.  It is one thing if they are still in college, but once they are out of college, they should register themselves as a parishioner and not part of the family registration.  This helps to keep our records accurate as to how many parishioners actually are in the parish and what our true needs are for our ministry.
