During this month of November, we remember the saints. As our intercessors, we petition them to forward our message to the Father so that He can answer our concern or interest. How often do we do this in our daily lives here on earth -- asking a favor from someone who has the power and authority to grant our wish? The saints provide this intercessory ministry for us.
Also during this month, we pray for the poor souls in purgatory. How do we know when they make it to the Kingdom? We don’t know, but our prayers are never wasted. They will always benefit someone else.
Think about the reality in which we find ourselves. Here on earth we can help those in purgatory and those who are in heaven can help us here on earth. How good does it get? Prayer is such a vital part of our lives. Do not forget to say your prayers every day!
I want to thank Deacon Leon and Joseph Eckelkamp for providing a special service for babies who died before childbirth. We had a number of people attend and I believe it was a good service for us to have here at the parish. We can always provide such a service for a family who has experienced this situation in the future.
