You may have noticed that we have made a change with our youth servers ringing the bells three times during the elevation of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. There is an ancient tradition of doing this. I do believe it gives us a little more reverence at this sacred time in the Mass. This is a reminder that we are receiving the actual Body and Blood of Jesus Christ at Mass each time we are there.
If you have a computer and the internet, have you ever used FORMED for your continued religious education? We can never stop learning about our faith! Even though I completed my Masters in Divinity some 43 years ago, I am still continuing to learn and update my Catholic faith.
One way to help us with our faith is by using FORMED.org. It is a subscription which the parish pays for all the parishioners to use and is available on any computer or mobile device. The FORMED app can now also be found on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and Apple TV.
There is a weekly explanation of the Sunday readings called “Opening the Word,” and has daily reflections which can be emailed to you that are only two minutes long. From there you can watch the entire episode by just clicking on the provided link.
If you have not already done so, just go to
www.FORMED.org to easily create your account by following the SIGN UP prompts, and then click on the “Start Watching” link in the email you will receive. If you already have a FORMED account set up, then you only need to SIGN IN – passwords are no longer needed!
You can sign up now to receive the FORMED Daily Advent reflections for both adults and children by going to
www.FORMED.org/Advent.
