Pastor's Notes - 12/08/2019

Last week's Gospel mentioned:   "Two men will be out in the field; one will be taken and one will be left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken, and one will be left.  Therefore, stay awake! For you do not know on which day your Lord will come.

Last Friday, the Lord called Ray Shipley and Jerome Brinkmann to the kingdom.  Neither of their deaths were expected.  Yes, both men have had some time in the hospital, but both were expected to recover.  Any time I celebrate a funeral, and we do have a few funerals here at St. Francis Borgia, it causes me to reflect and ponder.

As we prepare for the feast of Christmas which, like Thanksgiving, is such a family gathering, thank the Lord for your family.  Take time to appreciate them and be with them, because they are a gift from the Lord.  You have them today, and the Lord only knows when you will not have them at all.
