We are having an informational Q & I session next Tuesday evening, March 9th from 6:30 - 7:00 pm via a virtual meeting. If anyone is interested in finding out more, you can hop on the call and ask questions. Please RSVP to me, and I will be happy to send you the link for the meeting.
This role is ideal for:
Anyone who wants to donate in a meaningful way but also in a safe environment. You will be indoors, in a seated position which would be perfect for folks who can’t stand very long and who love to chat with new people. Perfect for retired folks!
For anyone who misses the face to face interaction with people this past year.
All our volunteers are equipped with mask, hand sanitizers, gloves and no touch thermometers to check temps of all the folks coming in.
Over 90% of the work done by the Red Cross is done by volunteers, we could NEVER do it without you!
You can pick a schedule that works for your life and if you find a time/day that works for you, you can always have that time saved for you!
Between donors, this is a perfect role for someone who needs to do homework or read a book.
All our donors are asked online and at the door if they are feeling okay before they come in. If they don’t, we ask them to save their donation for another day.
This is also a great way for students, 18 years and older to fulfill their community service requirement if needed.
Having a friendly, welcoming face at the blood drives goes a long way in making a donor feel needed and valued. More importantly, it allows our staff to concentrate to collecting blood from the donors instead of running back and forth.
If you or anyone has any questions, please feel free to reach out to me, either via phone or email. Thank you!
