Today is Divine Mercy Sunday. It has its origin in today’s Gospel of St. John in which Jesus, during his appearance to the disciples, gives them the power to forgive sins. Also, Jesus revealed to Saint Faustina the image of Divine Mercy and commanded her to make this image and message known to the world. Through her canonization by St. Pope John Paul II, her message was made known to all of us. He declared the second Sunday after Easter, Divine Mercy Sunday.
I hope you were able to enhance your prayerful celebration of Divine Mercy by attending some of the special events of the week with the guest speakers and the movie. I believe the most important message for us to live by is that our God is a God of mercy and forgiveness.
