Please welcome the newest members of the parish clergy and staff!
FATHER TONY RITTERHello, my name is Fr. Tony Ritter. I grew up in O'Fallon, Missouri with my wonderful parents and younger sister. I went to Fort Zumwalt North High School, and then entered Kenrick-Glennon Seminary right after graduation. After seven years in Seminary, I am now the youngest priest in the Archdiocese of St. Louis!
In my free time, I love to play and watch sports. I'm a big fan of almost any competitive sport: soccer, baseball, basketball, ultimate frisbee, tennis, football, ping pong, etc. (although I'm really bad at bowling!). I also enjoy playing the clarinet, saxophone, and piano from time to time.
The call to the priesthood • “As a young grade schooler attending Mass, I was really inspired by the holiness of the priests I encountered in church. Their reverence planted a seed in my heart, and, with help from my parents and sister, I began to deepen my own relationship with our Lord, especially through eucharistic adoration and daily Mass.
“The more I prayed, the more God kept on raising the idea of the priesthood in my mind and in my heart, so much so, that at the end of my senior year of high school, I knew I had to enter seminary to discern the diocesan priesthood. Over the last seven years at the seminary I have had the privilege of being assigned to a number of wonderful parishes in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, and God has used these experiences and the formation of the seminary to further confirm His call for me to the priesthood. I look forward to spending my life working for the salvation of souls, and I am delighted to give myself completely to Him and His Church!
I'm super excited to be here in Washington at St. Francis Borgia parish. I can't wait to get to know the people here and to pray and celebrate the Sacraments with all of you!
DELANEY BREWERHello! My name is Delaney Brewer and I am the new Coordinator of Religious Education at St. Francis Borgia. I recently graduated from Benedictine College in Atchison, KS with a BA in Theology and a Minor in Entrepreneurial Business. I transferred to Benedictine after two years at Saint Louis University where I was involved with the Edmund Campion Society, Relay for Life, Alpha Phi Omega, Children’s Liturgy, and other fantastic groups.
I spent four summers working with children and teens as a Summer Missionary for the Kansas City Kansas Archdiocese and spent two years continuing this work administratively year round. During my time at Benedictine I was the Service Coordinator for the College and worked in Ministry.
I have moved around the Midwest quite a bit but my parents now call Overland Park, KS home while my little sister is attending WashU in St. Louis.
I am passionate about Religious Education because it has transformed my life and given me the reason for my Hope, Jesus Christ! I am beyond excited and blessed with the opportunity to serve and live at this parish! Please pray for me as I pray for all of you!
