Thanks to all who attended our parish listening sessions this past week. We had good crowds who were presented with some draft options for planning in our area. No final decisions have been made so it’s very important for us to offer our feedback about what was presented. If you were unable to make it last week, the plan information will be available after October 19th. You can always email [email protected] for more information, for questions you may have, or to receive a copy of the proposed plans after they have been made available. You can also use that email address to submit feedback and ideas about the plans for our parish and area.
This weekend we are holding a special collection for the victims of Hurricane Ian and Hurricane Fiona. These caused major damage in the southeastern part of the United States, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and other areas in the Caribbean. Archbishop Rozanski is asking all of the parishes to take up a collection this weekend so that we can get the needed relief money to Catholic Charities and/or Catholic Relief Services who have been on the ground helping people in the aftermath of the hurricanes. These organizations do great work and are worthy of our support. Please contribute what you can to help. We will have envelopes in the pews. If you aren’t prepared to make a donation while at Church, feel free to drop off your donation at the Parish Office early next week.
As many of you are aware, I will be leaving at the end of this week for a pilgrimage to the Holy Land on Friday, October 21st. I will return on November 1st in the evening. Fr. Tony is excited to take the reins! But be nice to him. I’m looking forward to this trip as it will be my first time to the Holy Land. Every person who has been there tells me that it’s a wonderful experience and that the Scripture passages just come alive in a new way. Say a prayer for me and the parishioners and friends who will join me. And know that we will be praying for you daily while we are away.
Enjoy the Sausage Dinner today! Come on by between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Follow the signs for the drive thru so you can pick up the delicious meals and enjoy them at home. We are sure grateful for the leadership of Danny & Amanda Williams and for all the volunteers who help to make this dinner so good!
Fr. Tony will be away this week for the Spiritual Direction training program in which he is participating. He’ll be home Friday evening. Pray for safe travels.
