Dear Parishioners,
Welcome to the 4th Sunday of Advent! One week until Christmas. Did you know that this is the longest possible Advent due to Christmas falling on a Sunday? Next year, it’ll be the shortest possible Advent since Christmas will fall on a Monday, so the 4th Sunday of Advent next year will be on Christmas Eve! A little fun information for your Christmas holiday gatherings!
On Tuesday, December 20th we will host our Combined Parish Penance Service with Lourdes. Priests will be available here at St. Francis Borgia Church after our 6:30 p.m. Mass. Another great way to help us prepare for Christmas!
Don’t forget our Grade School Christmas raffle. Tickets are available from any school family or call the parish or school office. You can also find a link to purchase them here: https://bit.ly/PayIt_2022CmasCashRaffle The final drawing will be on December 20th.
On Christmas Eve our Masses will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and at 10:00 p.m. On Christmas Day, the Mass schedule will follow the regular Sunday schedule of 7:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., and 11:00 a.m. For the following weekend when we celebrate the Feast of Mary, Mother of God on January 1st, the Mass on Saturday, December 31st will be at 4:30 p.m. On Sunday, January 1st, we will keep our regular Sunday Mass schedule. Please note that there will be no evening Regional Youth Ministry Mass on Christmas or New Year’s Day.
As we prepare for our celebrations at Church, please welcome our friends from near and far who will be worshiping with us. Please extend a warm welcome to them and help them to feel at home. If you recognize someone who has been away from Church for a while, perhaps you could extend an invitation for them to come with you to Mass in the near future.
Have a Blessed and Merry Christmas. Enjoy this last week of Advent preparation. Let us pray for each other that the newborn Savior will find a place to dwell more fully in our hearts.
Advent blessings,
Fr. Mike Boehm
