Dear Parishioners,
This coming Wednesday is Ash Wednesday. We will gather for Mass on Ash Wednesday at 7:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, and 6:30 p.m. As we kick off another Season of Lent, let’s pray that we can rid ourselves of anything that keeps our focus off of Christ and our relationship with Him. Don’t forget we have weekly Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Tuesdays beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 6:15 p.m., just before 6:30 p.m. Mass. Some ideas for Lent to consider: attend daily Mass more often; celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation during these 40 days; check out some materials on Formed.org; make an extra effort to pray and come to Mass as a family every Sunday; invite a neighbor to attend Church with you; join us for Stations of the Cross on Fridays at 7:00 p.m.; pray for a few minutes each day. What else can you think of?
The survey we have been discussing for the All Things New initiative will be released on Ash Wednesday. If we have your current contact information, such as your email address or cell phone number, you will receive a link via email or text to take the survey, which is called the Disciple Maker Index. Please take the time to fill out this survey thoughtfully and honestly. We need each parishioner over the age of 18 to complete the survey. This will help us gain some valuable feedback on what we are doing well as a parish and where we might be able to improve. Thank you in advance for your participation. If you don’t receive communication, please feel free to call the parish office. Donna will be able to forward the information to you. We will also post the survey link on our social media pages and on a few signs in the Church vestibule and Jesuit Hall. If you don’t have access to a computer but would like to electronically fill out the survey, you may stop by the parish office and use a computer here during regular office hours. If you would rather fill out a paper version of the survey, we will have some available in Jesuit Hall and at the Parish Office so you can pick one up and return it after you have completed it. We will have a locked drop box in our Church vestibule for you to submit and easily return your paper survey. Thanks for your attention to this. Be on the lookout for the survey beginning Wednesday.
Our Book Fair continues this week on the 3rd floor of Jesuit Hall. Check this bulletin for further details and times. It’s a great way to give the gift of books and to help our school!
You may remember that some time ago I wrote about a Parish Mission with Archbishop Carlson at the end of March. Unfortunately we had to cancel that for this year. We will try to get something on the calendar for next year.
Mark your calendars for our Borgia Grade School Dinner Auction on October 1st, 2022! It is going to be a wonderful evening to support our students, faculty and staff. And it’ll be even better if you are there! We have a great school here and it is growing! We are preparing for an increase in enrollment again for next year! We have a lot to offer, especially the faith formation that the students receive which is the hallmark of Catholic education. Thanks to our faculty and staff for the tremendous work they do to educate and form our students.
Finally, a word of thanks to our Parish Breakfast Volunteers! What a tremendous group of folks who work hard (and have a lot of fun!) preparing delicious food for us to enjoy. Mark your calendars for the next one - March 20th! If you would like to volunteer, feel free to contact Dominic Gildehaus or call the parish office and we can put you in touch with him. Feel free to contact me as well. Thanks to all who came out to enjoy the breakfast last week! We had a great crowd.
Have a blessed Lent.
