As Daylight Savings Time ends, we are off and running in the month of November and looking forward to Thanksgiving, Advent, and the Christmas holidays. Time flies! We will keep you posted with Mass times and special opportunities during these months which will help us celebrate well and honor the liturgical seasons.
The
Parish Financial Report for the fiscal year ended 30 June, 2021 is now available for your review. It shows many highlights of the Parish for the past year. While we continue to be in decent shape financially because of your generosity, we continue to count on your donations in order to keep up our many ministries. I hope and pray that each of us will consider increasing our weekly contributions and our involvement in different parish activities and ministries. There’s a place for everyone! So please pray about this and let me know if you have any questions or would like to discuss how you might increase your involvement and investment in the parish. One thing I would love is that each person in our parish would reach out to someone who has not been to Church for a while and invite them to come with you. We are more complete as a parish family when more people are coming to Mass.
Our
SFBGS Home & School Raffle is underway for a couple of more weeks, so get your tickets soon! Tickets are available by calling the parish or school office or you can get one from a school family. The tickets cost $25 each and give you an opportunity to win one of three prizes: $2,500, $1,000, or $500. The drawing for the winners will be on November 23rd. The Home & School Association is made up of parents of our Grade School students and they do so much to support our school. Please consider buying a ticket. We are indeed blessed by our Home & School Association and grateful to them for their ongoing support of SFBGS.
This Thursday, November 11th, we honor and thank our
Veterans who have served our country in the Armed Forces. These brave souls have given a lot to protect the freedom we enjoy. When you see a veteran, please thank them for their service. There will be a veterans parade this Thursday that will pass by the different schools in town, including our grade school and high school. Tentatively, the Hometown Heroes Tour will pass by SFB Grade School at approximately 1:40 p.m. and then be at our High School at about 1:50 p.m. The students will be outside to wave, cheer, and thank them. Let’s remember to pray for our living and deceased veterans, for those killed or missing in action, and for all who continue to serve in our military. We owe them a huge debt of gratitude!
As we change our clocks back, this change in time is always a good reminder to check and change the batteries in your smoke detectors. A few minutes now could save a life later on! If you need some assistance with changing those batteries or checking those detectors, give us a call at the Fire Department (636.390.1020) and we can arrange for someone to come by your house to help.
Our Parish will welcome Archbishop Rozanski this Thursday for the celebration of the
Sacrament of Confirmation. Our Grade School and PSR eighth graders are ready and excited. Please pray for them as they prepare to receive the Holy Spirit in Confirmation. Congratulations to our Confirmandi!
Next weekend begins the main portion of deer season. Be safe, hunters!
Have a wonderful week! Thank you for your support of St. Francis Borgia Parish.
