Tomorrow evening, December 13th, we will host our Combined Parish Penance Service with Our Lady of Lourdes. The priests from our parishes will be available for confessions beginning at 7:00 p.m. here at St. Francis Borgia. (In Lent this will be hosted at Our Lady of Lourdes.) What a great way for Catholics in this area to come together to pray and celebrate God’s unconditional love and forgiveness while we open ourselves to the coming of the Lord.
Many, many thanks to our Ladies’ Sodality for hosting a wonderful Holiday Breakfast and Bazaar! They did a great job of welcoming so many people for breakfast and offering a very delicious meal in a fun atmosphere, complete with a visit from Santa himself. An extra special reason to say thanks to the Ladies’s Sodality is for the group who came to the cafeteria at 3:30 a.m. to make the homemade cinnamon rolls! And since the electric mixer wasn’t working properly, they had to make them all by hand! Wow! Thanks, Ladies’ Sodality, for hosting a great event that brought so many together. We are blessed!
Another big thank you to Kyra Gulledge, our Coordinator of Religious Education, and to her helpers who organized the Advent by Candlelight gathering for women. There was a great crowd in attendance who took advantage of this opportunity to step back for an evening from the busy and hectic season to focus on Advent in an atmosphere of prayer and being together. If you weren’t able to attend this year, be sure to get there next year for a very rewarding evening.
Here’s a peak at our Christmas Mass schedule. Please take note of the Mass times as we have readjusted Christmas Eve this year. Our Mass times will be as follows:
Christmas Eve at 4:00, 6:00, and 10:00 p.m.
Christmas Day at 7:00 and 9:00 a.m. (Note: even though Christmas is on a Saturday, there will be no 4:30 p.m. Mass that day.)
Sunday, December 26th (Feast of the Holy Family), we will celebrate Masses at the normal times of 7:00, 9:00, and 11:00 a.m. (No 6:00 p.m. Mass on the 26th.)
