Well, we are in the sixth Sunday of Easter. Next weekend we will celebrate the Feast of Ascension and also the partial opening of the church for public Masses. More details about that can be found here. As of right now, we are limited to 150 in church and another 50 in the choir room of Jesuit Hall.
These are the General Guidelines and Reminders from the Archdiocese:
Dispensation of the obligation to attend Sunday Mass continues until further notice.
Parishioners who are symptomatic or who have been exposed to another with the virus should not come to church, in accordance with national, state and local health directives.
Attendees should take their temperature at home before determining whether they should attend Mass.
Anyone over 60 years old and those with underlying health complications are encouraged to participate in Masses via live-stream only.
The faithful are obliged to wear a mask during the celebration of Mass, except for the brief moment of receiving Communion.
With us starting Mass on Monday there will be a schedule change of Adoration: Adoration will be on Tuesdays after the 7:00 a.m. Mass till 8:30 a.m. (1 hour) and there will be Adoration on Saturday mornings after the 8:00 a.m. Mass till 9:30 a.m. (1 hour).
We continue to have confessions after the Wednesday evening 6:30 p.m. Mass and Saturdays at 3:30 p.m. till 4:15 p.m. but there will be no Adoration during those times. We would like to again start having Adorations on Tuesday from after the 7:00 a.m. Mass till only 8:00 p.m., you will need to contact Deacon Leon at
lnoelker@charter.net or call him at 239-3219 to schedule your appointed time.
There have been a few changes going on in the parish. Both parish and school have undergone cutbacks and changes. First of all in the parish office, Jennifer Hill resigned to take a position elsewhere. Christine Piontek was hired to take on the Business Manager position. Earlier this month Sue Michels' position was eliminated from the parish office. I thank Sue for your dedicated service and ministry in our parish office.
In the school office, Debbie Williams will be retiring after many years being the administrative assistant. Thank you Debbie for your 23 years of service and ministry to our school. With Christine Piontek now coming to the parish office, there will be only one person who will be working the school office. Margaret Holtmeier will be retiring from the school library, so we are looking for that position to be connect with a person who has media and technology capabilities too. Thank you Margaret for your years helping our students and faculty to learn from reading books.
Have you seen our new sign on Front Street? We finally have one which is updated to the current priests assigned here.
Thanks for all your generosity to the parish at this time.
