Pastor's Notes - 07/07/2019

Now that school has finished for t he year, summer is the time we get the buildings ready for the next school year. 

I have asked my fellow pastors in our neighboring parishes about their schools, in regards to air conditioning in their classrooms.  It seems that we are the only school that does not have all of our classrooms air conditioned. 

Through your generosity of the Beyond Sunday Campaign, we were able to air condition the top floor of our grade school (the old high school).  The lower level of the building already was halfway air conditioned.  Of course, our cafeteria is fully air conditioned.

I have asked permission from the Archbishop to see if it would be possible for us to complete our school with air conditioning on the main floor and lower level of the grade school plus the gym.  Of course, there is a cost for this project.  I have spoken with our finance council, parish council and school board to try to pursue this endeavor.  The title of this project will be the “Father Joe Cool Club”, which was suggested by some of the parishioners.  The objective of this is to raise $200,000.  I am contributing $1,000 to start the fund and inviting anyone else to do the same. 

More information will be mailed out at a later date.  I realize that not everyone can participate in this project, but I am hoping there will be about 200 people who can.
