This week you will receive a brochure entitled
“Fulfilling the Mission of Jesus” detailing the program our parish will be participating in over the next few weeks. This informative brochure is intended to communicate the financial needs of our parish and why we are having a dedicated focus on our parish offertory.
We encourage all parishioners to spend time in prayer and discussion with your family reflecting on the parish’s needs and your current level of giving. We look forward to seeing all of our parishioners at Mass next weekend for this very important Commitment Sunday.
The other day we had a meeting about the food pantry. These days, we have been buying more food items than before. Also according to our records, money donations are down, especially from 2013-2015 when there was two to three times as much money contributed. I do thank you for your generosity in everything you do for our parish. I just wanted you to know the status of our food pantry.
Since 1986, the Archbishop of St. Louis has had a Convocation (calling all priests of the Archdiocese together for a weeklong conference). This is the year that we will have our Convocation. It starts on Monday evening, October 8, and finishes at noon or so on Friday, October 12. It is always scheduled at the Lake of the Ozarks so that priests do have to make a commitment to come, and not just buzz in and out. Thus, that week we will have Mass at 7:00 am on Monday, and then the rest of the week there will be Communion Services. Fr. Don Glastetter will not be attending from Our Lady of Lourdes, so there will be 8:00 am Mass at OLL Monday through Friday.
Thank you for all the sacrifices which you make aiding us to “Fulfill the Mission of Jesus.”
