Pastor's Notes - 12/01/2019

Last weekend we celebrated the Feast of Christ the King.  This was the last Sunday of the 2019 liturgical year for the Catholic Church.  This weekend we will start the 2020 liturgical year with the season of Advent.  Advent is a latin word which means coming towards.  We are coming towards the feast of Christmas.  What will you do spiritually for Christmas this year?  In reality, you have three full weeks and three days to prepare.  We will have the Little Black Advent Books at all the doors for you to pick up and use during the Advent season.
 
On Monday there will be an Advent Family Night beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the gym.  One way to prepare for the feast of Christmas is Reconciliation.  Please say a prayer for our second graders who will be making their F irst Reconciliation on Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m.
 
We will have a combined parish Reconciliation Service on Monday, December 23 beginning at 7 pm at OLL parish.  Reconciliation is always available on Tuesdays at 7:30 am, Wednesdays at 7 pm, and Saturdays at 8:30 am & 3:30-4:15pm.  It is a great way to help you prepare for Christmas.
