March For Life -- The students of the Parish School of Religion blessed the students who have taken the pilgrimage to Washington DC and joined in the March for Life. We are anxious to hear about what they witnessed.
Candlemas Day -- The students this week will celebrate the Presentation of the Lord and Candlemas Day at our weekly prayer service in church.
The students of the PSR will receive a blessed candle to bring home on Wednesday while in church for this week's class time. All families are invited to join their children in church as we gather to learn more about the Mass. Remember, instead of class in the school building this week, we will spend all of our evening in the church. Dismissal will be at 7:45PM from there.
Catholic Schools' Week -- All families are invited to attend Open House this weekend as we kick off Catholic Schools’ Week. The PSR students prepared hearts with messages of why they love PSR at St. Francis Borgia. These will be displayed in the school.
Celebrate Life -- As a religious institution of this parish, we continue our theme this month to celebrate life, all life. This means the unborn, elderly and anyone facing the daily struggles of this world. We will continue to collect baby items this month and have made a special request for socks that will fit infants to three-year-old children.
On Tuesday, February 7th, all second graders of the parish will join their parents for an informational gathering and retreat experience with the REAP Team. The evening will begin at 6:30PM on the top floor of Jesuit Hall in the ballroom. The evening will conclude at 8PM.
On Sunday, February 5th, at the 11Am Mass the second grade will be presented to the parish as candidates for the sacrament of First Holy Communion. The children with their parents will be called forward to receive a special blessing. As the congregation leaves Mass, the second graders will be handing out paper hearts with their name asking for members of the parish to pray for them as they begin preparations for their First Holy Communion Day.
On Sunday, February 5th, at the 11AM Mass the fourth grade will attend Mass with their individual family. They will be at all the entrances to greet parishioners as they arrive for Mass.
The next gathering for our high school faith sharing group will be on Monday, January 30th, at 6pm in the Garden Room of Notre Dame Hall. We will work on putting together infant care bags to be given out at the Pregnancy Resource Center in town. If you have any items, such as baby lotion, baby bottles, shampoo or soap, diapers or wipes that you can bring with you that night, please feel free to do so. We will be working on our care bags during the meeting, so dinner will be easy -- pizza and brownies! All high school students are always welcome to join us! If you have any questions, feel free to contact Kyra Gulledge at 239-2590x1277 or [email protected]
The children from Preschool thru Second Grade who attend the Masses on Sunday at either 9am or 11am are invited to attend the Children’s Liturgy of the Word provided by the wonderful volunteers who prepare materials weekly for them.
For the children who attend any of the other weekend Masses, there is a blue basket at the entrance of church with the same handouts that is given out at the Children’s Liturgy gatherings. Please encourage your child to take a copy as they either come into church or on their way out.
