There were lots of Cub Scout and Boy Scout religious awards earned this year. We are very proud of all these young men and their adult leaders and parents have accomplished!
The Purpose of the Light of Christ Award is to help the Cub Scout develop a personal relationship with Jesus. With the parents’ active assistance and participation in the program it is hoped that the Cub will come to see Jesus as a real person and his friend. The boys that received Light of Christ are AJ Banion, Jacob Beste, Sam Kleberger, Grayson Nipper, William Pinter, Camden Stoyer and Jase Taylor.
Parvuli Dei means Children of God. The purpose of this emblem is to help young boys discover the presence of God in their daily lives as members of their families and parishes and to help them develop a good positive self-image through the contributions they can make to the group or community. Those that received Parvuli Dei are Trevor Branson and Joseph Vanco.
Ad Altari Dei means to the altar of God. To earn the award these boys have studied the seven sacraments in depth in how they apply to them in their daily lives. Those that received Ad Altare Dei are Max Cramer and Anthony Ehlenbeck.
The Pope Pius XII award is Catholic Scouting’s church-related ministries and vocation program. The program deals with different life choices (single, married, religious, ordained), occupations and ministries in the church as calls from God. The only two scouts in the St. Louis Archdiocese that received Pope Pius XII are Sam Cramer and Adam Kopp.
The Bronze Pelican award is designed to recognize those individuals who are actively involved in youth ministry through Catholic Scouting. Adults that received the Bronze Pelican are: Ellen Clark, Julie Hargraves, Russ Volmert, Fr. Tony Ritter and Fr. Mike Boehm.
